About this product

This 12 V battery hydrometer draws electrolyte into a transparent chamber so the internal float can indicate specific gravity. It is intended for serviceable lead-acid inverter and automotive batteries where the cell caps permit electrolyte testing. Regular readings can help technicians compare cells and assess charge condition alongside the battery manufacturer's instructions.

Battery shops, garages and inverter service technicians may search for it as an inverter battery acid tester, lead-acid specific-gravity tester or battery electrolyte hydrometer. Electrolyte is corrosive, so users must wear suitable eye and hand protection, avoid splashing and follow the battery manufacturer's safety procedure. It should not be used on sealed batteries that are not designed to be opened.

For comparison, test cells under similar conditions and rinse the sampler as directed so residue does not affect later readings. Specific gravity is only one part of battery assessment and should be considered with voltage, charging history and the manufacturer's service limits. Dispose of contaminated rinse material according to applicable safety practices.
